In 2010 we "Ran the Frog and Toad" together and had a great time:
The Next World Airline Road Race
|
On Sunday 17th October I was privileged to be able to help with the departure of a charter flight from Heathrow containing 192 seriously ill and disabled children on the holiday of their lives to Orlando, Florida. The flight was this year's Dreamflight flight which is funded entirely by voluntary contributions. You will be pleased to know that the leftover funds from this year's World Airline Road Race in London will fund the entire trip of two of the children and provide a treat for all of the others. Photos.
The Host Committee considers that overall the 2010 World Airline Road Race Festival was a great success. Attendance was roughly double that of recent years, registration ran smoothly, the pre-race events were well attended and noisy, the races ran like clockwork, the weather on race day was the best September weather since 1985 and the London Awards Party format suited most attendees.
The results have now been published on the International Website, photographs from the Festival are available and we are all looking forward to next year's 30th World Airline Road Race in Grapevine, Texas, hosted by our colleagues in American Airlines. We hope to see you all there.
