Your Audience

The event is being hosted by the British Airways Athletics Club (BAAC) and the promotion of the event will take in the whole of British Airways.

1,000 to 1,600 participants are expected and many will bring additional friends or family members so total attendance should be nearer 2,000.  Participants will consist of:

American visitors

Our travel industry colleagues from the USA and Canada are always keen to visit “The Old Country” to see their friends, families and history. The economic climate is such that it could be the perfect opportunity for them to base their late summer vacations around the event, visiting both the UK and perhaps Europe too.

European Visitors

This will be the first European event since the popular 2006 event in Amsterdam. It will be easy for the Europeans to pop over the channel to take part. They may only stay for the weekend - but we would expect their numbers to be high!

The Rest of The World

With frequent flights from virtually anywhere in the world to London, and since most of our participants qualify for concessionary airline travel, we also anticipate significant numbers from the rest of the world.  We expect to see the Australians in force, we’ve been promised good participation from the Gulf (who always enjoy running in cooler climates than their own!) and it’ll be interesting to see how many of our Chinese colleagues catch the World Airline Road Race bug and follow the event back from China in 2009 to London in 2010.
