WARR1985 25 year Reunion

Wednesday 22nd Novotel Hotel WARRtering Hole from 19:30.  If you were at the 1985 World Airline Road Race you'll remember that we had a "Royal Good Time" with the races in Hyde Park.  Meet up with those of us from the 1985 team for a drink and a trip down memory lane, perhaps ending up in a restaurant.  Wear your London1985 shirt if you still have it! eMail John Williams to say that you are coming: 25years@warrlondon.com .

Kayaking and Canoeing in The Thames

Try out canoeing and kayaking on the tidal Thames with Edge Progressive Paddling. They will be offering taster sessions for adults and children of any ability. A great opportunity for anyone keen on getting some light exercise, splashing around in the river, watching out for wildlife or just floating with the tide in a friendly environment.

Session details:

1) Exploring the leafy channels in West London Wednesday 22nd September, 6:30-8:30pm Kew Bridge Arches, Strand-on-the-Green, London W4 3NG .  Book your place by Wednesday 15th September by emailing enquiries@edgepaddling.com .

2) A trip in the heart of the Docklands Saturday 25th September, 2-5pm drop-in sessions at the Royal Victoria Dock, London (after the races have finished). Let us know in advance if you can, otherwise just "drop-in".

Sessions at £15/£10 concessions with all proceeds going to Dreamflight. Please bring a spare change of clothes and shoes you don’t mind getting muddy, all equipment, waterproof cagoules and coaching provided.  Website: www.edgepaddling.com (new window).

Orienteering Run Quiz

An opportunity for light training in the few days before the big races.  Ask for the Orienteering Map at Registration. This map shows various landmarks and features around the Royal Victoria Dock area and further a field and some quiz questions on each feature. Run, jog or walk out to these in your own time, make a note of the answers to the quiz questions and then check the full answer list which will be posted up in the Novotel on Saturday.  It's just for fun (and exercise) but if you get all the answers right let us know.
